A short, plain version. The client's lawyers should replace it with their own.
This is a demonstration
LuxeTide is a fictional company. The tours, prices, group sizes, dates of departure and people on this site are sample content, and nothing here is an offer you can accept. The practical facts and the photographs are real; they carry their sources and credits. The payment screens run in test mode: no real card is accepted and no money moves.
How a booking is made
There are two ways, and the page of each trip says which it is.
- Day trips can be booked online. You choose a date, see the seats left, and your seats are held for 30 minutes while you pay the whole price. The booking is made when the payment succeeds and we show you a receipt; we then email it to you. If you do not pay in time the hold ends and nothing is owed. Where a date is full you can join its waiting list, and we email you if a seat opens.
- Journeys of several days, and anything you would like built around you, start as an enquiry. A person writes back, and may send you a quote: a total, a deposit (usually 30%) and a date for the balance (usually 45 days before you travel). A quote is valid until the date it shows. The trip is booked when you pay what the quote asks for the first time.
An enquiry is not a booking
Sending an enquiry starts a conversation. Nothing is held and nothing is owed until a quote you accepted or an online booking you paid for.
Prices, currency and tax
Prices are shown in US dollars and charged in US dollars. Other currencies on the site are an approximation for reading only, with the date of the rate beside them; your bank sets its own rate. A trip's price is per person unless it says it is private. A child pays the share of an adult's price shown on the trip. Whether tax is included in a price, and how much, is shown on your receipt.
Promo codes
A code takes a percentage or a fixed amount off a booking or a quote. Each has its own rules (which trips, which dates, a smallest order, how many times it can be used, once per email address) and the site tells you plainly why a code was refused. A code cannot be exchanged for money and never takes a booking below one dollar.
Changing or cancelling
You can ask to move a date or to cancel from the booking's own page. Moving a date is free up to 7 days before the trip, once. What comes back if you cancel is in the cancellation policy, and is worked out by the same calculation on that page and on your booking. A request is decided by a person, who may offer more than the policy requires; nothing less.
Your account
An account is for one adult. Keep your password to yourself and use a different one here than anywhere else. Two-factor sign-in is available and we recommend it. Five wrong passwords in a row lock the account for 15 minutes. We may close an account that is used to abuse the site, and you can delete yours at any time.
Reviews
Only people who took a trip can review it, once, from a link we email the day after it ends. The studio reads every review before it appears and publishes it, or does not, but never edits it and never writes one. Rejecting or removing a review is for abuse, personal details or something that is not about the trip, not for being critical.
On the day
Please follow your guide. Guides may change or cancel a plan for safety: a volcano alert, the state of the sea, heavy rain or a road closed for a ceremony. If we cancel for one of those reasons you may choose another date, an alternative of equal value, or a full refund.
Respect
Bali's temples are places of worship and its ceremonies are not performances. We will ask you to dress for them, keep a distance from prayer, and ask before you photograph anyone. A guide may ask you to leave a place if you cannot. No refund follows from that.
Insurance and health
We recommend travel insurance that covers the activities you choose, including any hiking or boat travel. You are responsible for telling us about health conditions that affect what you can safely do.
Using this site
Please do not scrape it, probe it for weaknesses, or use it to send anyone messages they did not ask for. If you find a security problem, tell us at the address in /.well-known/security.txt and give us a reasonable time to fix it.
Our responsibility
How far a real operator is responsible for what happens on a trip, and where that stops, is a matter for the client's lawyers and insurers. It is left blank here on purpose rather than filled with words nobody has checked.
Governing law
To be set by the client's lawyers, for example the law of Indonesia and the courts of Bali.
