Cancellation policy
Cancellation policy
A sample policy, written the way we would want to read one. It is an example: the client's own terms replace it.
Day experiences
If you cancel a day experience, counted back from the start time on the trip's page:
- More than 48 hours before: full refund.
- 24 to 48 hours before: half refunded.
- Less than 24 hours, or you do not arrive: no refund.
Journeys of several days
If you cancel a journey, counted back from the first morning:
- More than 60 days before: everything you have paid is refunded.
- 30 to 60 days before: half of the trip price refunded.
- Less than 30 days before: no refund.
Moving a date
Ask for another date from the booking's own page. It is free up to 7 days before the trip, once, and subject to a seat being free. Closer than that it is treated as a cancellation and a new booking, unless we say otherwise.
How you ask, and how it is worked out
Press “Cancel this booking” on your booking. The page shows what the policy gives back at that moment before you ask, and a person confirms it, normally within one working day. The amount is a share of what you paid, or for a journey 30 to 60 days out, of the trip price, and is never more than what you paid. It is rounded down to the cent.
If we cancel
If we cancel because of weather, the state of the sea, a volcano alert or a closed road, you choose a new date, an alternative of equal value, or a full refund. If we cancel for any other reason, you also get a full refund.
Ceremonies and Nyepi
Some days the island moves differently. On Nyepi (8 March 2027) the airport closes and nobody goes out on the roads for a day, and ceremonies close roads around temples. Nothing runs on Nyepi or the morning after it, and the booking calendar shows those days as closed. If an unannounced ceremony clashes with your plan, we move it to another day at no cost, or refund it in full.
Boat crossings
Boats to Nusa Penida, the Gilis and Lombok run to the operators' own rules and are sometimes delayed or cancelled when the sea is up. We build in a spare day where it matters, and refund any part of a crossing the operator cancels.
How refunds are paid
To the way you paid, normally within 14 days (the client's own timing goes here). A refund covers the deposit or price you paid, in US dollars. It can be partial, and you will see each one on your booking and in your email.
On this demonstration site
There is nothing to refund here: payments on this site use test cards and no money moves. The refund calculation, the screens and the emails are real, and run on test amounts.
